If you are, you came to the right place, because this blog post is ALL about the breakfast, brunch and brinner staple! Nope, not the simple egg-based dish. No, siree! This post is about delicious paleo, gluten free, diary free, grain free, WAFFLE RECIPES!
A good waffle can really steal the breakfast show. It’s got texture, volume, flavor, and best of all, it goes with just about any topping: maple syrup, honey, berries, bananas, oranges, nuts, seeds…oh lawwwd, its pure bliss.
Preston and I are huge fans of breakfast and brunch. He is also a fan of brinner (it’s really cute for me to see him randomly crave breakfast at night, as I feel like I get a small peek into how he must’ve been when he was a little boy with random cravings and such, haha), but brinner is not really ma’ thing. During the work week our mornings are busy and so we don’t really get too fancy nor creative with our breakfast. However, come Saturday and Sunday, we’re all about them breakfast foods. We get super excited about it, and we try to make a “thing” of it.
We open all the blinds and windows to let some fresh air and sun in, turn on some chill music, put on our bath robes, set the table according to the season, and then, we get to it. Most of the time, I have all the ingredients I need at home for our breakfast feasts, but when I don’t, I quickly put on something casual on, make myself a to-go blended ghee coffee, and head to Whole Foods. I’ll usually get organic eggs, bacon, fresh berries, bananas, some kind of citrus, non-dairy milk, maple syrup or honey, and a bunch of healthful ingredients to make some yummy (you guessed it) waffles!
We make our waffles with Paleo ingredients only, and my favorite flour combination to use is cashew and coconut. The waffles turn out moist and they hold really well. I have so many favorite recipes of mine, but here are a just a few that we like to make on repeat:
